Our next beginners courses are on

The sessions start at 9am and finishing at 12 midday. We provide all equipment.

Completing a beginners course is a requirement to join any archery club.

On Saturday 21 June, Friars Gate Archers welcomed over 80 visitors to the Open Day event, offering a chance to explore the world of archery, both ancient and modern.

Guests were able to see live demonstrations of target and a taster of what field archery entails. The Have-A-Go stand allowed many to try archery for the first time under the guidance of our experienced coaches.

A well-run BBQ, and on-site refreshments made the day enjoyable for all. Visitors praised the friendly and professional atmosphere, with club members on hand throughout the day to guide guests and answer questions.

Promoted through local magazines, flyers, social media, and word of mouth, the event was a great success, showcasing the club’s welcoming spirit and dedication to the sport.
