FGA was fortunate in 2008 to obtain Lottery Funding to finance the Field archery venue at Fletching which many local archers experienced through the four Open Shoots held during the year. (See the relevant pages within this site plus the Location page regarding venue location)
The Fletching site offers a superb facility, heavily wooded with two attractive lakes comprising over 5 acres in total area. We have insufficient field archers within FGA to really justify the expense involved and the long term future of the venue hinges on our ability to open up the facility to other local archery club members.
Accordingly we have established a new Field Archery Associate status within FGA designed to attract other Archers who whilst belonging to other local clubs are keen to regularly participate in Field Archery throughout the year.
Associates will also be able to use our alternative field venue at Friars Gate just outside Crowborough which is available from October through to the end of March. The Friars Gate Course is again heavily wooded though much more rugged in its terrain than Fletching offering a truly challenging course.
Field Associate membership is available to existing Archery GB members at £45.00 per annum. (Junior £28.00). However this does not include free entry to the various open competitions that the club holds.
Complete and return application form to the Membership Secretary or email us (mail@friarsgatearchers.com) if you want to sample the locations prior to joining.
Layered foam targets have been purchased for all individual targets at Fletching which are permanently established at the venue.
