The Club's origin stems from 1969 and was initially established on a farm within the Ashdown Forest from where it acquired its name.
The club spent many years outdoor target shooting at Buxted Park near Uckfield.
After years of looking for a new site we have finally completed all the legal and planning requirements and are now shooting from our new field at Barnsgate Manor, Herons Ghyll, East Sussex, TN22 4DB.
Our field archery season runs from October through to March within an attractively wooded setting in Crowborough and all year at Eastland Wood, Fletching.
There are approximately fifty active members aged from eleven to eighty. Shooting styles reflect individual preferences with equipment ranging from the traditional long bow through to the modern recurve and high-tech compound bows.
The club welcomes all archers including those with disabilities who enjoy a reduced membership fee, as do Juniors and Family groups.
We participate in the Summer Selby League and the Winter British Archer Frostbite and Portsmouth Leagues.
For those seeking an introduction to the sport beginners' courses are run throughout the year. See the beginners course page for more information.
